Our client is a multibillion-dollar food distributing manufacturer located in the greater Richmond area who is looking to hire a Plant Controller. This will be a hybrid schedule, with 3 days a week onsite and 2 days working from home.
Summary
- Daily Oversight: Manage general and cost accounting activities per organizational policies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Key Functions: Oversee general ledger, fixed assets, financial reporting, treasury, accounts payable/receivable, and accounting systems.
- Analysis and Projects: Conduct process constraints analysis, target costing, and margin analysis to optimize cost tracking.
- Cost Tracing: Implement accurate cost-tracing methods for improved financial insights.
- Job Functions
- Timely Accounting Operations: Ensure accurate completion of general ledger, fixed assets, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and cost accounting activities.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Produce and prepare financial reports, forecasts, and budgets while analyzing variances and identifying root causes for improvement.
- Staff Management & Development: Lead and develop accounting personnel through training, evaluation, and coaching to enhance team performance.
- Policy Compliance & Inventory Control: Implement and maintain accounting policies in line with IFRS, and oversee physical inventory processes and variance analysis to ensure accuracy and accountability.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience:
- 5 years of progressive general accounting or audit experience.
- 1 year of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3 years of leadership experience in a related role.
