Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the operational accounting and costing functions of the organization. This position will involve overseeing month-end close activities, preparing financial reports, and providing insights into cost management to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial results.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, variance reports, and management reports, providing insights on operational performance.
• Oversee and enhance costing processes, including standard costing, job costing, and inventory valuation, to ensure accurate product costing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and insights necessary for accurate financial reporting and decision-making.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in the reconciliation of inventory accounts, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing detailed analysis of variances and operational metrics.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and insights as required.
• Mentor and support junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on operational accounting and costing, preferably within the food and beverage manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and cost accounting methodologies.
• Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
