Job Summary:

As a Traveling Superintendent, you will be responsible for managing all on-site operations for ground-up retail construction projects throughout the country, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role involves full-time travel, overseeing projects from start to finish, coordinating with subcontractors, and maintaining quality standards in all phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee daily site activities to ensure construction schedules, quality standards, and budget expectations are met.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Enforce all safety regulations and guidelines, fostering a safe work environment for all on-site personnel.
  • Review plans, specifications, and construction documents, proactively addressing potential issues and providing solutions.
  • Monitor and track project progress, providing regular updates to stakeholders and adjusting schedules as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards and client specifications.
  • Manage and motivate on-site teams to ensure productivity and maintain high standards of work.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as a Superintendent with experience with ground-up retail construction preferred.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively to project sites across multiple states.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (Procore).
  • OSHA certification preferred.
