Job Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial reporting activities and managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. This includes general ledger entries, financial statement generation, year-end audit coordination, and support for budgeting and forecasting activities. The role involves developing and implementing practices to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, adherence to accounting principles, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will lead and develop the accounting team, ensuring efficient allocation of tasks and timely completion of financial duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the overall accounting function, ensuring efficient processing and reporting across all accounting activities.
- Oversee the monthly financial close process for US, Europe and Asian entities, ensuring timely and accurate consolidation of corporate financials.
- Maintain strict control over the General Ledger (GL), ensuring accuracy in journal entries and alignment with company policies.
- Perform monthly account analysis and reconciliations, prepare financial statements and provide requested reports to management
- Oversee sales and use tax reporting, ensuring timely submission and compliance with local regulations.
- Coordinate and manage the preparation of supporting schedules for the month-end, midyear, and year-end reviews, as well as any tax work or other miscellaneous audits.
- Continuously review and improve accounting processes and procedures, leveraging automation tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop, update, and enforce accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to the accounting team, fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous development.
- Collaborate with other departments and leadership teams to support cross-functional projects and financial analysis, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Prepare comprehensive and clear reports for senior management, highlighting key financial metrics, variances, and performance against targets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with a strong understanding of accounting processes and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in SAP is highly desirable, as well as strong experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong supervisory skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
- Proven ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization and represent the Finance Department on various cross-functional teams or projects.
