Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team at a growing manufacturing company. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and cost accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in both corporate accounting and manufacturing cost accounting, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general ledger accounting activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Analyze and report on manufacturing costs including material, labor, and overhead variances.
- Maintain and update standard costs and inventory valuation.
- Support physical inventory counts and cycle counting processes.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with operations and production teams to improve cost visibility and financial performance.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks Enterprise, NetSuite, SAP, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently in a small team setting.
