Payroll Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end payroll using UltiPro, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Manage payroll transactions, including: New hires, terminations, transfers, compensation, job changes, garnishments, and deductions
  • Reconcile and validate payroll data prior to submission
  • Process special payrolls, including bonuses and year-end adjustments
  • Partner with internal teams to resolve payroll-related inquiries
  • Respond to employee questions related to pay, taxes, deductions, and leave balances
  • Investigate and resolve complex payroll issues and escalations
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Support audits and respond to inquiries from government agencies
  • Manage multiple priorities while meeting strict payroll deadlines

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field
  • 7+ years of multi-state payroll experience in a high-volume environment
  • Experience with multi-entity payroll structures (multiple FEINs) preferred
  • CPP or FPC certification strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. wage and hour laws, payroll taxes, and garnishments
  • Experience with UltiPro required
  • Experience with IBM Cognos Business Intelligence is a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
