Our client has a 50+ year track record of success within the real estate industry, investing in a variety of asset classes with an emphasis on Class A commercial. They are seeking a Controller to work closely with company executives in overseeing all real estate finance and accounting functions on both the equity and debt sides of the business. This company has a family-like atmosphere including a 9-5 work schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Financial analysis, budgeting and modeling; knowledge of Argus is a plus but not a requirement
- Plan and coordinate year-end audits with outside accountants
- Tax compliance and tax return filings for corporate and partnership entities
- Daily treasury functions, including monitoring of daily cash activities and coordination of investment of excess cash
- Quarterly loan compliance and reporting
- Preparation of capital project trackers; review fixed assets, classifications, write-offs, depreciation
- Oversee tenant billing functions and lease administration
- Oversee more junior staff
- Assist with a variety of investment analysis and special projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred
- Strong quantitative, financial analysis and modeling experience
- Exposure to office, multifamily, development projects preferred
- Self-starter with a passion for real estate, a strong entrepreneurial mind and strong work ethic
- Highly organized, good team player, and independent problem solver
- Exceptional time management and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects with significant responsibilities and competing priorities
- Strong communication skills (oral, written and interpersonal)
