We are seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and support custom automation systems. This role involves hands-on work with hardware and software, from concept through installation, as well as providing technical support and guidance to the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement PLC and HMI programs to project specifications
- Program and integrate devices such as robots, motion systems, and vision equipment
- Support machine debug, testing, and validation to ensure full system performance
- Collaborate with project teams on design concepts and hardware requirements
- Provide technical direction, mentoring, and support to junior engineers
- Communicate effectively with project managers, peers, and customers regarding project status and issues
- Travel to customer sites for installation, startup, and troubleshooting (domestic and international)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–10+ years of experience with PLC programming, HMIs, robotics, and motion control
- Strong background with electrical/mechanical systems including pneumatics, hydraulics, and motor controls
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics
- Skilled in troubleshooting and problem solving under tight deadlines
- Knowledge of electrical codes, safety practices, and quality standards
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
