We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to join our team in designing, developing, and supporting custom automation systems across a wide range of industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PLC and HMI programming, as well as hands-on experience integrating industrial automation hardware and software.

As a Controls Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering turnkey automation solutions — from concept and design through commissioning and final hand-off. You will collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to deliver innovative and efficient automation systems that meet our clients’ unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, program, test, and debug PLC and HMI systems for custom automated equipment.
  • Develop and implement control system architectures based on project requirements.
  • Create and maintain electrical and control system documentation including I/O lists, control narratives, wiring schematics, and panel layouts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software) throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Commission and troubleshoot automation systems both in-house and at customer sites.
  • Integrate sensors, actuators, motion systems, vision systems, and safety devices as part of complete machine control.
  • Provide post-installation support and assist with customer training when required.
  • Ensure all control systems comply with applicable safety standards (e.g., UL, CE, NFPA 79).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial automation, with a focus on PLC and HMI programming.
  • Proficiency in one or more major PLC platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, etc.).
  • Experience with HMI development tools (e.g., FactoryTalk View, WinCC, Ignition, etc.).
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
