Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled Cost Accountant to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing cost analyses and ensuring the accuracy of financial records in our manufacturing plant. The Cost Accountant will play a crucial role in our organization by helping to optimize production costs and identifying areas for improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain cost accounting systems, policies, and procedures for the manufacturing plant
- Conduct ongoing cost analyses, review production records, and gather data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and variances
- Collaborate with production managers to ensure accurate tracking of production costs and inventory levels
- Assist in budget preparation and forecasting, providing insight into expected costs and financial performance
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting regulations and standards
- Participate in audits and assist with year-end closing activities
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and special projects as requested by management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications
- Knowledge of ERP systems and their use in cost accounting is a plus
