Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer with a strong background in CNC maintenance and service to support installation, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced manufacturing equipment. This role requires a self-directed professional who is comfortable working on-site at customer facilities and traveling for extended periods (up to one week at a time).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, commissioning, and start-up of CNC machinery at customer sites
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues on CNC equipment
- Conduct preventive maintenance and system performance evaluations
- Provide technical support and training to customers on proper machine operation and maintenance
- Troubleshoot CNC control systems, including Fanuc and/or Siemens platforms
- Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation
- Document service activities, maintain accurate records, and submit detailed service reports
- Collaborate with internal engineering and support teams to resolve complex technical issues
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures at all times
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6+ years of hands-on CNC maintenance and service experience
- Strong expertise with Fanuc and/or Siemens CNC control systems
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, PLCs, drives, and servo motors
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and customer service abilities
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 80%, including trips lasting up to one week at a time
- Valid driver’s license and passport (or ability to obtain one)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field
- Experience working with multi-axis CNC machines (mills, lathes, machining centers)
- Familiarity with additional control systems or industrial automation platforms
- Previous field service experience in a customer-facing role
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Frequent travel to customer sites, including industrial manufacturing environments
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and work in confined spaces as needed
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
