About The Company – Director of Finance

Our client is a large manufacturing organization with over 1,000 employees and 40 locations, including brick plants, masonry supply centers, and design studios. Over $3.5 billion, is involved in Building Products, Land & Development, and Investments. Since 2018 they have expanded in the USA by acquiring other various organizations.

Basic Function

The Director of Finance will report to the Vice President, of Finance, this position oversees financial reporting, annual budgeting, and weekly forecasting for North American manufacturing plants and retail locations. Responsibilities include operational finance and decision-making with the VP of Sales, VP of Operations, and Senior Director of Retail Operations, developing financial strategies, and monitoring control systems. This role also involves creating internal control policies and managing a team of 13 employees, including 5-7 direct reports.

Principal accountabilities are:


  • Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
  • Develop operational strategies in conjunction with the Executive VP Finance and senior management team
  • Support the capital request process, including payback and discounted cash flow calculations
  • Develop performance measures that support the company’s strategic direction and monitor operational metrics


  • Oversee month-end reporting within operations, including inventory monitoring & valuation, general ledger entries and accruals
  • Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
  • Oversee process improvement initiatives across the operational organization with a focus on driving standardization in finance processes and controls across the organization
  • Oversee monthly & annual physical inventories


  • Business experience of 10+ years in progressively responsible leadership positions in a major company or division of a large manufacturing corporation (Public Company/Corporate Office Experience is beneficial)
  • Demonstrated experience in managing, developing, and leading a large team
  • High level of written and oral communication
  • Experience in forecasting, budget preparation, and product costing
