Position Summary

A well-established commercial general contractor in the Upstate South Carolina market is seeking a Preconstruction Engineer to support and work directly under a senior, 20-year estimator. This role is designed as a succession-track opportunity, with the intent of developing into a future preconstruction leadership position.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with conceptual and detailed estimating for commercial interior, renovation, and upfit projects
• Coordinate with operations and project teams to ensure accurate scope alignment
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids
• Participate in value engineering and cost analysis efforts

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or commercial operations/project management
• Experience with commercial interiors, renovations, or upfits (K-12 and/or higher education experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of construction documents and cost analysis
• Strong communication skills and ability to grow into a leadership role
