Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to lead complex automated machinery projects from initial concept through design, build, installation, and final commissioning. This role requires a strong engineering background, proven project leadership skills, and hands-on experience within the automated machinery or industrial automation industry.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically fluent, and comfortable coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering projects from concept development through completion, including design, procurement, fabrication, testing, installation, and customer acceptance
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, controls, manufacturing, and vendors
  • Manage project risks, change orders, and issue resolution to ensure successful delivery
  • Review engineering designs and ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and customer specifications
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to management and customers
  • Support on-site installations, commissioning, and troubleshooting as required

Required Qualifications

  • Several years of experience leading engineering projects from concept to completion
  • Several years of experience within the automated machinery, industrial automation, or related manufacturing equipment industry
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems used in automated machinery
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing custom, engineered-to-order machinery projects
  • Familiarity with PLCs, controls systems, robotics, and motion control
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification
  • Experience working directly with customers and suppliers
