Position Summary

The Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and optimization of RF circuits and subsystems, with a strong emphasis on RF filter design and RF PCB layout. This role will support the development of high-performance RF systems used in wireless communications, radar, sensing, or related applications. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional hardware, systems, and manufacturing teams to ensure RF designs meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop RF circuits including RF filters, matching networks, amplifiers, and signal chains for wireless and high-frequency applications.
  • Perform RF filter design including lumped-element, distributed, microstrip, and cavity filters depending on system requirements.
  • Develop and optimize RF PCB layouts ensuring controlled impedance, signal integrity, grounding, and EMI/EMC compliance.
  • Conduct RF simulations using industry tools (e.g., ADS, Microwave Office, HFSS, CST, or similar).
  • Perform RF measurements and validation using lab equipment such as vector network analyzers (VNA), spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
  • Analyze RF performance including S-parameters, insertion loss, return loss, isolation, and bandwidth.
  • Work closely with PCB layout engineers and mechanical engineers to ensure manufacturable and high-performance RF designs.
  • Support prototype bring-up, debugging, and troubleshooting of RF circuits and subsystems.
  • Document designs, simulation results, test procedures, and performance data.
  • Participate in design reviews and cross-functional engineering collaboration.
  • Support transition of designs from prototype to production manufacturing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–7+ years of experience in RF circuit design.
  • Strong hands-on experience with RF filter design.
  • Experience designing RF PCBs for high-frequency applications.
  • Familiarity with RF simulation tools such as:
  • Keysight ADS
  • AWR Microwave Office
  • HFSS or CST
  • Experience with S-parameter analysis and RF measurement techniques.
  • Knowledge of impedance matching, transmission lines, microstrip/stripline design, and grounding strategies.
  • Experience using RF lab equipment including:
  • Vector Network Analyzer (VNA)
  • Spectrum Analyzer
  • Signal Generator

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with focus in RF/Microwave Engineering.
  • Experience with multi-layer high-frequency PCB design.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC mitigation techniques.
  • Experience with high-frequency wireless systems (GHz range).
  • Experience with RF front-end modules, antennas, or phased arrays.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and DFM considerations for RF hardware.
