Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and reports. This role involves preparing financial statements, managing general ledger activities, supporting audits, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. The Senior Accountant also plays a role in improving processes and may mentor junior accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist with the preparation and analysis of budgets and forecasts.
- Audit Support: Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Tax Compliance: Assist with tax filings and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Process Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems.
- Team Support: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Communication: Effectively explain financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Special Projects: Participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
