Our client is a leader in food production manufacturing that has been in business for over 50 years. They are growing and are looking for new members of their team due to this growth.Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor budget performance, identify variances, and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
- General Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Taxation: Assist in preparing and filing tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax. Stay up-to-date with tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. Provide actionable insights to management for informed decision-making.
- Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Recommend improvements as necessary.
- Audit Support: Collaborate with auditors during external and internal audits. Prepare necessary documentation and respond to audit inquiries.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within the accounting function. Streamline procedures to increase efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments within the organization, including finance, operations, and management, to provide financial guidance and support.
- Ad hoc Projects: Undertake special projects and assignments as assigned by management, such as system implementations, financial analysis, and process optimization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation is preferred.
- Proven experience (X years) working as an accountant, demonstrating proficiency in various accounting tasks.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
- Proficient in using accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Adaptable and willing to take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
