Senior Fund Accountant

Our client, one of the most highly regarded investment firms in NYC, is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to oversee alternative investments including direct investments, private lending, equity portfolios, and fund of funds. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare entity level and combined financial statements for group of pooled investment vehicles
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly executive reporting package, highlighting key metrics, upcoming activity, and decision making
  • Maintain all books and records, entity, and investment documentation
  • Create and maintain data warehouse with historical investment information, maintain ongoing track record, and life to date portfolio performance
  • Primary point of contact with third party investment managers and administrators
  • Manage capital activity for each investment
  • Plan and forecast cash flow needs over life of each investment, matching expected in and outflows to maximize IRR and total returns
  • Review and record monthly and quarterly investment statements, reconcile to accounting books and records
  • Analyze the general ledger for each investment, prepare journal entries, calculate accruals and adjustments, and maintain detailed workpaper files on monthly basis
  • Prepare annual budget and reforecast
  • Work closely with outside service providers – tax & audit (as required)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience of investment/fund accounting with a private fund or investment manager
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills including ability to create and manipulate pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros required
  • Proficiency in other MS Office products – PowerPoint/Word/Visio/Outlook with emphasis on clear and informative PowerPoint decks for executive & partner presentation
  • Experience working with and/or implementing portfolio management software is preferred

Total Compensation:

  • Base salary range is approximately s $130,000 to $140,000
  • Eligible for a discretionary bonus
