Sr. Cost Accountant/Plant Controller – Manufacturing

Job Summary

The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing and managing manufacturing costs, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting operational decision-making. This role partners cross-functionally to improve cost control, profitability, and financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, cost reports, and variance analyses
  • Perform monthly standard cost updates, inventory valuation, and cost roll-forwards
  • Maintain accurate general ledger activity, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Track and evaluate production, labor, overhead, and inventory costs
  • Support monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
  • Develop and maintain financial models and operational reporting tools
  • Partner with operations and supply chain to provide actionable financial insights
  • Support audits, special projects, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with a cost accounting focus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and general accounting systems
  • Ability to manage deadlines and collaborate across teams
