The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing and managing manufacturing costs, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting operational decision-making. This role partners cross-functionally to improve cost control, profitability, and financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, cost reports, and variance analyses
- Perform monthly standard cost updates, inventory valuation, and cost roll-forwards
- Maintain accurate general ledger activity, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Track and evaluate production, labor, overhead, and inventory costs
- Support monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
- Develop and maintain financial models and operational reporting tools
- Partner with operations and supply chain to provide actionable financial insights
- Support audits, special projects, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with a cost accounting focus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel and general accounting systems
