Summary

Our client is a well established, locally owned and operated General Contractor who has been bringing projects to the community for over 20 years. Their goal is to consistently provide the best experience for owners, architects, and subcontractors throughout the projects.

The Preconstruction Manager will work with a variety of external and internal team members to bring together a variety of Healthcare, Education, Industrial, and Housing projects averaging $30m value in the Winston-Salem area. The main responsibilities will include developing project estimates and handling communication on pricing/budgets throughout the projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage project financials from design estimate all the way through subcontract formalization
• Prepare detailed conceptual cost estimates and conceptual cost studies
• Develop variance summaries between estimates.
• Perform value engineering studies throughout.
• Create preconstruction schedules and update as needed.
• Work with the project team to prepare constructability reviews, logistics planning, and scheduling.
• Prepare detailed instructions to bidders including comprehensive bid packages.
• Make subcontractor award recommendations to customer/owners

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of applicable Estimating or Preconstruction experience.
• Proficient computer skills in MS Office, Estimating / take-off software, BIM tools, Revit, and scheduling software
