Our client, a leading food manufacturer is looking to add a Tax Manager to its team. The role has growth potential with an impending retirement in the next couple of years.

As Tax Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the tax compliance and planning processes for our clients. You will be responsible for ensuring that our clients meet their tax obligations while optimizing their tax strategies to minimize liabilities. This is a leadership role that requires a strong understanding of tax regulations and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Tax Planning: Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities for clients, while staying up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Client Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as their primary point of contact for tax-related matters. Provide excellent customer service and address client inquiries and concerns.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development and ensuring the efficient completion of tax projects.
  • Research and Analysis: Stay informed about changes in tax legislation and their potential impact on clients. Conduct research and analysis to assess the implications of these changes and develop strategies accordingly.
  • Tax Audits: Represent clients during tax audits and examinations, ensuring compliance and addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present tax reports and findings to clients in a clear and understandable manner, providing recommendations for tax optimization.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized tax records, ensuring compliance with record-keeping requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
  • years of experience in tax preparation, planning, and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
