About the Job – Plant Controller
Our client is an established global provider of plastic components and multifunctional surfaces, primarily catering to the automotive industry. With 30 facilities around the world, the company employs nearly 4,000 staff and emphasizes innovation and partnership with its customers.
The Plant Controller works in tandem with the Plant Manager to handle financial reporting and budgeting activities. This role involves overseeing inventory cost accounting, focusing on precision and operational effectiveness.
Job Duties
- Prepare the monthly plant financial package and participate in financial review meetings with the leadership team to discuss performance.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and balance sheet account reconciliations for all trial balance accounts.
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager to develop and track the annual budget and periodic forecasts, leading the annual budgeting process to create monthly financial statements and KPI forecasts.
- Oversee the reconciliation of inventory sub ledgers to the general ledger and provide weekly KPI data to the Plant Manager.
- Assist Operations in inventory management, establish reserves for excess and obsolete inventory, develop standard costing rates, and analyze New Product BOMs for financial impacts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred, with five to seven years of financial analysis or cost accounting experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required, and familiarity with database reporting and consolidation software is a plus; experience as a power user of ERP systems is also beneficial, particularly with Plex ERP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling professional interaction across all organizational levels.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently, influence others, and manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
