We are seeking an experienced Property Manager to oversee a portfolio of affordable housing communities. This individual will be responsible for day-to-day operations, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and resident relations, ensuring the property operates efficiently while maintaining high standards of service and compliance with affordable housing programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of affordable housing property/properties, ensuring smooth management and maintenance
- Ensure full compliance with affordable housing regulations (e.g., LIHTC, Section 8, HUD, and other local/state programs)
- Manage the leasing process including applicant screening, income certifications, recertifications, and waitlists
- Supervise and mentor on-site staff including leasing agents, maintenance personnel, and administrative staff
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, monitor expenses, and maximize NOI performance
- Handle resident relations, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts professionally and efficiently
- Coordinate property maintenance, inspections, and capital improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records and reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Work closely with ownership and asset management to meet operational and financial goals
- Ensure timely rent collection and manage delinquency and eviction processes in compliance with regulations
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of property management experience, with a focus on affordable housing
- Strong knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, or other affordable housing programs
- Experience with income certifications and recertifications required
- Proven ability to manage budgets and financial reporting
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities
- Proficiency with property management software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, RealPage)
