Our client, a well-known and highly reputable real estate developer, is seeking a Controller with great leadership skills. This company offers a hybrid schedule and significant potential for growth.
Salary: $150K – $180K, 20% target bonus
WFH 2-3 days per week
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and mentor a team of 3-5 accounting professionals
- Ensure appropriate controls and procedures are in place for accurate and timely financial reporting
- Review workpapers of development projects to ensure accuracy
- Oversee month-end close, including reviewing tax-based financial statements
- Oversee the preparation of detailed audit workpaper in connection with month, quarter and year-end financial audit and reporting process
- Reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers to general ledger and monthly reports
- Utilize existing accounting systems to automate processes and reporting where appropriate
- Support CFO with ad-hoc analysis requests
- Manage annual Building Operating Expense reports; prepare annual operating budget, revised forecasts
- Ensure compliance with partnership agreements, debt covenants, and other contractual obligations
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’ s degree in Accounting or a related field
- CPA strongly preferred
- Managerial experience required
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and the accounting requirements of real estate organizations
- Strong organization, coordination and planning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet strict deadlines consistently
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
