Senior Associate

Our client is a real estate finance company focusing on multi-family and industrial investments. The company’s headquarters is on Long Island but the role has the potential to be remote. This is an opportunity to gain broad exposure to all aspects of the business including asset management, underwriting and originations. This individual will work closely with the company’s leadership, all of whom enjoy mentorship and maintain a high level of employee retention on their teams.

The Senior Associate role will support the credit and asset management departments and will gain valuable experience throughout the entire life cycle of each investment. The Senior Associate will also have involvement in all other facets of the company’s business including deal negotiation and documentation, investor relations, fundraising, and other fund-related activities.


  • Assist in the origination, underwriting, due diligence and closing of new real estate investments
  • Provide analytical support on a wide variety of assignments including market research, review of property operating statements, cash flow modeling, property valuation, and borrower credit review for investment committee approval
  • Prepare and present screening and credit memos for our senior management comprised of investment terms and conditions, a narrative explaining transaction background, and risk factors
  • Monitor, analyze and report on existing asset performance including the review of financial statements, performing financial analysis, developing Excel and Argus based models, and contributing to the development of strategies to protect and enhance asset value
  • Develop and present solutions addressing any performance issues and recommending course(s) of action to resolve the same
  • Monitor construction progress including status of trades, schedule conformance, milestone targets, and conduct periodic site visits
  • Work collaboratively with Galaxy team members, borrowers, senior lenders, brokers and market participants
  • Exercise discretion, independent judgement and problem-solving abilities to complete work assignments in a highly disciplined and professional manner
  • Communicate your findings and recommendations clearly in both written and verbal presentations


  • 4-year finance, real estate, accounting or math background preferred
  • 2-5 years of relevant real estate asset credit experience with a concentration in multifamily and commercial real estate investments
  • Strong modeling and analytical skills including advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Argus capabilities
  • Able to work under tight time constraints and extended hours as required
