Position Overview:

The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in providing financial analysis, reporting, and strategic support to the Finance department and senior leadership. This individual will be responsible for driving financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in financial analysis within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with business goals and key operational drivers. Provide insightful analysis of financial performance, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets, collaborating with department heads to gather input and provide financial guidance. Monitor performance against budget and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Costing & Profitability Analysis: Perform detailed cost analysis, including product cost structures, margin analysis, and cost-saving initiatives. Analyze production costs and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial reports for internal stakeholders, including key performance indicators (KPIs), variance analysis, and financial statements. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Business Partnering: Work closely with operational teams, including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and R&D, to provide financial insights and support decision-making. Offer financial guidance on capital expenditures, inventory management, and operational improvements.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting principles (GAAP), and regulatory requirements. Assist in the preparation of audit documentation and collaborate with auditors during annual audits.
  • Ad-Hoc Analysis & Projects: Provide financial analysis for special projects, including M&A activities, process improvements, and new product launches. Support strategic initiatives with financial modeling and scenario analysis.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and reporting systems, enhance data accuracy, and increase the efficiency of financial operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, with a strong background in manufacturing or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Experience with cost accounting and product costing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, financial modeling) and familiarity with financial ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
