Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our dynamic tax team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of complex tax regulations and a proven track record of delivering exceptional service to a diverse client base, including HNWIs, partnerships, and corporate entities. This role involves overseeing tax compliance and planning, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring our clients’ tax strategies are optimized and compliant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance & Planning:
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for HNWI clients, partnerships, S-Corps, C-Corps, and trusts and estates.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize liabilities and optimize tax positions for clients.
- Provide insights and recommendations on tax implications of various business decisions.
- Client Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a thorough understanding of their financial goals and objectives.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, providing timely and accurate responses.
- Conduct regular meetings with clients to discuss tax planning strategies and compliance issues.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Mentor and train junior staff on tax compliance, research, and best practices.
- Review the work of junior team members, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
- Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages professional growth.
- Research & Technical Expertise:
- Stay updated on current tax laws, regulations, and trends affecting HNWI clients and businesses.
- Conduct research and provide technical guidance on complex tax issues, including but not limited to estate and gift tax planning.
- Prepare and present technical presentations and training for internal and external stakeholders.
- Business Development:
- Identify opportunities for additional services and client referrals.
- Assist in the development of marketing materials and participate in networking events to promote the firm’s tax services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree or JD preferred.
- CPA certification required.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax compliance and planning for HNWIs, partnerships, S-Corps, and C-Corps.
- Strong knowledge of trust and estate tax issues.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with tax software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
